June has been busy, despite my intention to take some time to rest. Our family has been blessed with time together, and we have been facing several sources of grief (more specifics in my last update). Having established our latest batch of interns and sites, the Net has been focused on settling in and nurturing our current partners in ministry and our clients. At home, baby girl has learned to roll where ever she wishes, and she’s working on using a spoon as a baton, drumstick, and chew toy (not yet a utensil).
What We’ve Accomplished:
We have provided over 30 sessions this past month at Midtown Partners (The Redeemer’s School is out for the summer). Providentially, individual sessions have gone well, and group sessions have also been positive.
I have been blessed to be able to pour into and learn from some of our interns this month. Supporting them will continue to be part of my work.
I also had the opportunity to meet with some of the staff I work with at Midtown Partners and to give an in-service training on communication tools to use in encouraging our clients to move towards their goals. My favorite part of the meeting came at the end when we got to discuss self-care. Helpers (people in the helping professions) often burn out, and I am always glad to draw attention to self-care and preventing burn-out.
Please continue to pray for our clients: this month has included many heart-wrenching sessions. Please pray for healing.
Please pray for our interns: Our goal is to support them well in a field that can sometimes be difficult. Please pray that we do this well, and that God provides what they need to serve their clients well.
Please pray for fundraising: I have to raise approximately $8000 more for my work this year to be sustainable. I will be following up with some potential supporters. Despite God’s goodness, I continue to feel anxiety in these situations, please pray for peace. If you would like to support our work by donating you can contribute to my GoFundMe campaign , or visit The Net’s website.
